A renowned company in Sydney CBD, they are a professional services firm who advise a range of businesses from startup organisations to mature companies with employees operating in Australia and Internationally.  With the philosophy that accounting firms can only offer so much and for businesses to truly thrive they need a trusted business advisor that can understand the strategic direction of its clients business and model its growth and key objectives.  This is the go to accounting and advisory firm for the burgeoning Western Suburbs.

The Position

Due to growth and an internal promotion a position has become available for a Senior Accountant with at least 4 years of experience in a similar role and with the clients’ growth strategy in mind perform the following key activities that support and provide a framework for advising the business on strategy, growth and direction

Preparation of Australian income tax returns for Individuals, Trusts, Partnerships, Companies and Self-Managed Superannuation Funds;

Compilation of Financial Accounts for Trusts, Partnerships, Companies, Superannuation funds, Allocated Pensions and Complying Pensions;

Compilation of Business Activity Statements and other Goods and Services Taxation (“GST”) documentation including registration for GST;

Preparation and lodgment of Private Taxation Rulings;

Taxation advice and yearend tax planning ;

Business Advisory Services;

Preparation of Australian Securities and Investments Commission annual returns for companies as well as other company secretarial matters

Setting up Business Structures and Restructuring;

Advice regarding international tax issues and managed fund investments for the purposes of wealth creation;

Retirement planning and taxation advice regarding employer termination payments and superannuation payments; and

Liaising and negotiating with Australian Taxation Office (“ATO”) on behalf of clients.

About You

You will be seeking a role with hands on client work

You will be eager to do more consulting work rather than pure compliance
You will have studied accounting at university and will be professionally qualified or near to completion CA, CPA, MA Tax.  The academics are a pre requisite but the main requirement will be your passion for helping businesses grow and prosper whilst working with a dynamic firm of accountants.
