Job Description
If you are the person other people come to when they have a tax issue that they can’t resolve or need assistance with, then this role is for you. An excellent opportunity for an experienced practitioner who wants to extend their skills and experience. Full time (or part time for the right candidate).
About the Role
In this role, you will expand your technical knowledge at a faster rate than with almost any other employer in the market. It’s an excellent opportunity for a knowledgeable practitioner who has a joy for the technical side of the profession and wants to share that knowledge.
This is a role where you are recognised for your technical insight and knowledge, and ability to communicate that knowledge quickly and efficiently.
What it’s not: time sheets, billable hours and having to be a client acquisition rainmaker to be recognised.
What it is: Intense, fast paced and technically challenging where you will be exposed to the practical application of the tax laws across a myriad of scenarios.
What you will be doing
Working with a team of talented and highly qualified professionals, you will further develop your tax and accounting skills as the ‘adviser’s adviser’, providing timely responses to a broad array of technical issues and queries.
– Tax advice to the Knowledge Shop membership through the help desk service
– Support the development of Knowledge Shop’s knowledge base of working papers, procedures, etc.
– If willing and able, upskill as a technical education presenter and creator
– Contribute to the development and distribution of knowledge that benefits the profession
The right fit
As a minimum, you must have:
– Manager level experience within an Australian public accounting practice, preferably mid-tier
– Australian tax advice experience, which means that you know how to comprehend, interpret and apply tax legislation, ATO rulings and other guidance material – and have provided this advice to clients (separate to managing tax compliance)
– A relevant post graduate qualification (CA/ CPA/ Masters in Taxation)
– Current membership of CPA Australia, CAANZ, or TTI
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Only candidates with valid working rights within Australia will be considered.
Working environment
Great team, great city location and a supportive company. For full-time team members, we generally work three days per week in the office and two from home.
Our preference is for full-time advisers but we will consider part-time for the right candidate.
