ABOUT YOU

As a Senior Accountant, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting our clients by assisting with the preparation and review of business advisory reports, financial statements, tax returns, and BAS.

You’ll work closely with a Senior Client Manager, gaining exposure to strategic tax planning and advisory services, while developing the skills necessary to transition into a client management role.

THE SPECIFICS

This is a permanent full-time role within our Subiaco office, with flexible arrangements to support your work-life balance, and future WFH options available.

As a Senior Accountant, you will report directly to the Senior Client Manager, with a key focus on supporting both client service delivery and technical accounting tasks.

Duties of this role include:

> Preparation and review of business advisory reports, financial statements, BAS, and tax returns for various entity structures.
> Supporting your Client Manager in strategic client meetings and advisory services, including tax planning and structuring advice.
> Mentoring and training graduate accountants as needed, fostering their development within the team.
> Managing your own workflow to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
> Continuously developing your technical knowledge in areas such as Div7a, GST, and tax structuring, and applying this knowledge to provide practical solutions for clients.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

> Minimum of 4 years of experience working in a public practice firm, with a solid understanding of accounting and tax processes.
> Ability to prepare and review financial statements, BAS, and tax returns end-to-end, with a moderate understanding of structures and technical concepts.
> Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information in simple terms to clients.
> Experience using Xero, with the ability to adapt to other accounting software as needed.
> Self-management skills to handle your own workflow and deadlines, ensuring consistent quality and efficiency in your work.
