The Role

The Business Advisory team in our Melbourne office is seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join their growing team. In this client-centric role you will have exposure to a varied client portfolio and will provide a range of accounting, compliance and advisory services. You will be supported by a close-knit, high-performing team, and have opportunities to refine your skills and expertise in this role, creating a positive environment for career growth.

As an Intermediate Accountant you will be responsible for:

  • Working with the client manager to manage a portfolio of clients across a diverse range of industries
  • Using your technical expertise across accounting and tax to deliver income tax returns, complex special purpose reports, annual financial statements and reconciliations for companies, partnerships, and trusts
  • Preparation of monthly management reports for client, cashflow statements and the construction of logical and accurate working papers
  • Preparing budgets for client engagements
  • Assisting in consulting matters including the provision of tax advice
  • Providing guidance and support to junior team members through quality feedback and review, coaching and delegation
     

As our ideal new team member, you will have:

  • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) or similar undergraduate degree
  • Completed professional certification – CA, CPA or equivalent (or working towards)
  • 1- 3 years of accounting experience in a professional services firm
  • Motivation and a commitment to self-development and career progression
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A strong ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
