Charlwoods Accountants is a dynamic, fun and professional Accounting Practice based in Dandenong.

We are looking for an exceptionally talented, innovative and motivated Senior Accountant/Supervisor.

Are you a seasoned tax accountant with excellent communication skills? Do you have a strong commitment to learning and development and mentoring junior staff in a well established accounting practice? If so, we want to hear from you!

About the role:

The role represents an exciting opportunity to supervise a team. It would be suitable for someone who is wanting to step up from a Senior Accountant role into a Manager role. You will supervise a small team of accountants to achieve key performance goals and deliver excellent service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review work performed by staff members
    Mentoring and training accountants
    Managing your team’s WorkFlow
    Demonstrating a high level of analytical ability in reading financial data and delivering business advisory services
    Strategic Tax Planning
    Tax & Compliance
    Preparation of financial statements and tax returns relating to sole traders, partnerships, companies & self managed superannuation funds
    Work with various accounting software packages, largely MYOB, Xero & BGL

Requirements:

  • Relevant university qualifications
    Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a public practice firm
    CA/CPA Qualified or equivalent
    Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain concepts clearly
    Strong computer skills, including high levels in Excel
    Experience with Xero, MYOB and BGL will be advantageous
    Organisational skills
    Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
    A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to learn and develop
    A positive attitude and a willingness to grow as part of a progressive, supportive team
