Current opportunity:  

As part of our Adelaide based Forensic Accounting division, this role can be offered at the level of Senior Consultant for those with 4+ years of experience. We are also open to receiving applications from candidates with slightly more experience, in the range of say 5-10 years, who can bring additional expertise to our team.

Based in our CBD offices you will be surrounded by specialists with technical expertise, provide great client service, lead your team and propel your career.

The role:

  • Assist in the preparation of Valuation Opinions / Reports for both commercial and litigation / court purposes.
  • Assist in the provision of Forensic Accounting Services as a court or consulting / shadow expert.
  • Economic loss assessments and fraud, payroll and other investigations.
  • Review and analyse financial statements, tax returns and other financial and legal / business records and identify key issues.
  • Identify required further information and/or instructions to complete engagements.
  • Analyse business / entity financial performance and key trends and drivers thereof and financial position.
  • Research and analyse a variety of business, industry and economic data and information.
  • Effectively communicate issues and actions with clients and team members

Your skills and experience:

  • Chartered Accountant (member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand). Additional tertiary qualifications in finance and/or law a bonus.
  • 4+ years professional experience in public accounting in a quality Australian firm in Forensic Accounting, Audit, Valuations and/or Corporate Finance/Advisory.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and capacity to think independently and critically.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Office suite of software products, primarily Excel and associated data analysis tools.
  • Strong report-writing and presentation skills. Excellent written and verbal English skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team and to report upwards and manage, delegate and supervise downwards effectively.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines concurrently and effectively allocate and prioritise time.
  • Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining client / work confidentiality and forming independent, objective reasoned professional opinions.
