The Opportunity

We’re seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our New Zealand Payroll Solutions team as a Payroll  Solutions Assistant / Trainee based in Invercargill.

This is an entry-level opportunity designed for someone looking to launch a career in payroll — no prior payroll experience required!

 

What will your typical week look like?

  • Assist with preparing, checking, and processing of client payroll transactions
  • Maintain accurate filing systems and records
  • Learn different software packages and how to apply NZ payroll legislation and employment agreements
  • Support reporting, invoicing, and payroll documentation preparation and reconciliation in a professional services environment

  • Confident with numbers, with high attention to detail
  • Curious and eager to learn, with the ability to retain and apply information
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities
  • Comfortable using technology and a strong team player
  • Reliable, trustworthy, with a professional, friendly approach

 

Bonus points if you have:

  • Previous experience in administration, customer service, or numbers/finance (not essential, but having “a head” for some or all these things is a must)
  • A tertiary qualification in business, HR, accounting, or a related field (not essential)
  • Exposure to payroll systems or financial software (not essential, training provided)
