We’re looking for a Senior HR Consultant who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys being reactive, and is technically strong enough to deliver confidently across a diverse client base. This is a true consulting role, fast-paced, client-facing, and commercially focused. If you like structure handed to you, this won’t be the role. Our team is growing so we are looking for HR Professionals! Ideal candidates will be based in Auckland and Christchurch, but we are also open to Tauranga and Invercargill. These roles do require regular travel.
Join our dynamic HR Consulting Team, where no two days are the same! You’ll be part of a well-established HR and H&S consultancy within a leading professional services firm, delivering tailored HR advisory services to a wide range of clients across New Zealand.
Your role, your contribution!
In this client-facing role, you’ll work with a portfolio of clients, providing practical, technically HR sound advice across the full employee lifecycle. One day you might be managing a complex HR issue, the next recruiting, advising a board, or helping a client with remuneration reviews.
You will:
- Deliver high-quality HR advice related to all functional HR areas including employment relations, performance, remuneration, recruitment, change and compliance.
- Build, grow and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Act as a trusted advisor, not just a problem-solver.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and win new work.
- Balance reactive client demands with planned delivery.
- Work across multiple clients, industries and risk profiles simultaneously.

What you will bring to the role:
- Proven Generalist HR experience at a senior level including ER capability.
- Hold a tertiary qualification in a related discipline, i.e. HR or employment law (preferred).
- Have external agency, professional services or consulting experience and understand the demands of external consultancy and competing project-based work.
- Enjoy building and maintaining a client base and are commercially minded and comfortable with business development.
- Hold very high standards of professionalism and communication, with a passion for continuous improvement.
- Have strong written and verbal communication and provide sound professional judgement and risk awareness.
- Have a pragmatic and solutions-focused mindset with the ability to work independently.
- Curiosity and willingness to keep learning
- Have flexibility to travel domestically as needed.
